Lot 11.AARDVARK-AARDVARK-1970-FIRST PRESS UK (PROMO) -DERAM NOVA-NMINT/NMINT

AARDVARK-AARDVARK-1970-FIRST PRESS UK (PROMO) - DERAM NOVA-SDN17. Mega rare British original hard-prog-blues cult band. Aardvark ‎– (1970) The one-album English band took as their name a term denoting a representative of the tropical fauna-the African anteater. In the late 60s and early 70s, during the musical rock boom, a huge number of bands released one or two albums. Many of these groups often imitated already known artists, a number of groups tried to experiment with sound, but due to the lack of professionalism and talent, their music was of little interest to anyone... But still, many were not deservedly forgotten, as the material released by these teams was sometimes very interesting, and often did not concede or even surpass in quality, the then monsters from rock... One of these teams was the Aardvark group. On July 11, 1969, Aardvark, Blodwyn Pig and The Good Earth, along with THE Soft Machine, participated in Midnight Rave No. 3 at the Classic Theatre.  Prior to recording the only album produced by David Hitchcock, the band featured keyboardist Paddy Coulter, who was replaced by multi-instrumentalist Steve Milliner. Around the same time, Milliner helped create the album Barbed Wire Sandwich (1970 Nova) by Simon Kirke and Paul Kossoff's Black Cat Bones. The main burden in the band, which worked without a guitarist, fell on the shoulders of keyboardist Steve Milliner. His inventive playing with bassist Stan Aldous is one of the obvious advantages of the disc, which was released in March 1970 on the branch of Deram Records Nova. The combination of organ, bass guitar and percussion evokes the Aardvark band Egg and anticipates the future compositions of Emerson, Lake , Palmer - The Greencap. On the disc, Copper Sunset stands out with a great, wrong bass part and the epic blues thing Many Things To Do, as if it came here from the Cream storerooms, but the best is the old-fashioned Once Upon A Hill with spectacular celesta parts.Subsequently, vocalist Dave Skillin discovered another talent. He took up writing the lyrics, and from his pen came the lyrics of the album Alchemist - 1973 CBS band Home. The further fate of the musician is covered with the darkness of time. ...more

Lot 23.BEATLES-SAME (WHITE ALBUM)- MONO-1968-FIRST PRESS -UK-APPLE- NMINT/NMINT

BEATLES-SAME (WHITE ALBUM) - MONO-1968-FIRST PRESS-UK-APPLE-PCS7068 Matrix numbers: A-1/B-1/C-1/D-1. Version with the added text “An E. M. I. Recording".  The number on the cover is N 80922. The Beatles (also known as The White Album) is the tenth studio album by The Beatles and the band's only double release. The album, released in 1968, is better known as the "White Album" because of its white cover, which contains nothing but the band's name (the early editions also feature a serial number), and which was designed by artist Richard Hamilton as an antithesis to the mottled image of its predecessor. The White Album was the first album The Beatles recorded and released after the death of the band's manager, Brian Epstein. It was originally planned to be called A Doll's House ("Doll's House"), but due to the release of a longplay by the band Family with a similar name, Music in a Doll's House ("Music in a doll's House"), it was decided to rename it . The album reached number 1 in the UK and US charts and is now considered one of the greatest albums of all time and a masterpiece of rock music. So, it was placed at the 10th position in the "Music of the Millennium" poll conducted by HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM, as well as at the 17th place in the similar list of Q magazine. It also reached number 7 in the same publication's "100 Best British Albums of All Time" poll. White Album was ranked the 11th Best Album of All Time by VH1, and was also included in Time Magazine's "100 Best Albums" list. In addition, the record is ranked 10th in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All time, 1st in the L. A. Weekly's "20 Greatest Double Albums", the same place in the NME's "30 Must-Listen Double Albums" list, and the top spot in The Daily Telegraph's "10 Greatest Double Albums in History". According to the RIAA, the White Album is the band's best-selling album in the United States and ranks as the 10th best-selling album in history. ...more
