Following the release of Together Track Records, GE organized several major concerts in England in 1973, during which they tried out their quadraphonic sound system. The band performed at London's Rainbow Theatre, and also appeared on the BBC television programme OLd Grey Whistle Test.

The Battle of North West Six is the second album by Keefe Hartley. At the time, Hartley's six-piece band was appearing with an expanded brass section as Keefe Hartley's Big Band, and a number of songs on the album include this expanded line-up. His professional music career began when he replaced Ringo Starr in the band Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, a popular Liverpool band at the time. He subsequently played and recorded with The Artwoods, and became a member of the John Mayall Bluesbreakers. After that, he formed his own band "The Keef Hartley (Big) Band", whose style included elements of jazz, blues, rock and roll. The band performed at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and released 4 popular albums including Halfbreed and The Battle of North West Six.
