MAGGIE, BELL (EX-STONE THE CROWS) - SUICIDE SAL-1975-FIRST PRESS UK-POLYDOR-2383313. A very rare original blues vocalist from STONE THE CROWS. Stone the Crows disbanded in 1973, following the accidental death of Leslie Harvey from electrocution on May 2, 1972. Harvey was an integral part of the band and its music. Peter Grant became Bell's manager after the split, and along with Mark London, offered to help Bell record a solo album. Grant directed the release of her first solo album, Queen of the Night (1974), which was recorded in New York City. with producer Jerry Wexler. The swan song for Bell came when she signed with the then-newly formed Swan Song Records in 1974, along with Bad Company and Pretty Things, Jimmy Page contributed to her second album Suicide Sal (1975).  ...more

A rare original of the cult group.  Contraband is an album by the Dutch rock band Golden Earring, released in 1976. For the US, the same recordings were released under the album title Mad Love the following year (1977). A very rare French original of the second album of the top progressive British band Second Hand. In 1970, they recorded their second studio album, Death May Be Your Santa Claus, at Mushroom Studios and invited Second Hand to release their album there. The album was released in April 1971 with a supporting single titled "Funeral", featuring "Hangin' On An Eyelid " (track 2 from the album) as the B-side. This album was much more successful than the previous one, using a heavy symphonic rock style that clearly influenced the vocal style of Arthur Brown(Rob Elliott was a big fan of them). ...more
