The CD consists of world-famous American hits by popular artists (with the exception of the songs " Michelle "by the British rock band The Beatles, and the song" Susanna " by the Dutch band The Art Company). All the songs of this album have been translated into Italian, as well as the arrangements have been changed. The translation of the lyrics is as close as possible to the original. In total, the album includes eleven songs. The album was a bestseller for two years and is very important in Celentano's career. The success of the album was so great that two years later Celentano released a second disc with the same name-I miei americani 2, which also featured world hits.
