The first press was released only in Germany. No Jive is the eighteenth studio album by the British band Nazareth. Released in 1991 by Griffin Records. Despite the retirement of permanent guitarist Manny Charlton and the return of Billy Rankin, in the 90s Nazareth returned to classic hard rock, from which they started. From the first chords of "Hire and Fire", you seem to be transported to 1974, to the time of "Rampant". The first 3 tracks were made in this style. Next is the obligatory melodic semi-ballad "Every Time it Rains". Remnants of the sound of the 80s are still left in "Keeping our Love Alive". "The Rowan Tree" is a nice little instrumental on an acoustic guitar, which is like an introduction to" Tell Me That You Love Me " – here the guys remembered that they are from Scotland and played a wonderful folk singing song. The disc ends with the once again replayed "This Flight Tonight" In February 1992, the album was released, received flattering reviews from critics, followed by a tour of Europe, including the first trip to England after 1985. The album was released on March 22, 1993 on the Mute Records label, and a day later in the United States on the Sire and Reprise Records labels. The album contains a darker and darker sound than its predecessor Violator, largely influenced by the alternative and grunge scene in the US. Songs of Faith and Devotion reached high positions in most country charts and also became the first Depeche Mode album to debut on the chart in both the UK and the US.
