The band Tear Gas consisted of musicians who later formed the backbone of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. At the time of joining Alex Harvey, the band consisted of: vocalist David Batchelor, Hugh McKenna-keyboardist and backing vocalist, bassist Chris Glen, Zal Cleminson-guitar and backing vocals, and Hugh McKenna's brother Ted on drums.
