ELLINGTON, DUKE / FITZGERALD, ELLA - ELLA SINGS THE ELLINGTON (BOX 2 X 2LP) -1957-FIRST PRESS (MONO) USA-VERVE-MGV4010-4. A rare American original of the famous album. A 1957 studio album by American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, accompanied by Duke Ellington and his orchestra, dedicated to Ellington's songs. Part of the Fitzgerald Songbook series, this is the only one where the composer also appears as a performer, and the first time Fitzgerald recorded with Ellington. It is also the entry in the Songbook series that gave her the most opportunities to demonstrate her skill in singing scat. Most of the third disc is dedicated to two original compositions by Billy Strayhorn, inspired by the life, character and artistry of Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's recording on this album earned her the Grammy Award for Best Individual Jazz Performance at the 1st Annual Grammy Awards. The album was released in two volumes: In the first volume was Fitzgerald with the Ellington Orchestra, in the second-Fitzgerald with a small group. This album marked the beginning of a fruitful creative relationship between Fitzgerald and Ellington. After the release of the album , critics wrote: There is a clear discrepancy between the sheer ambition of this CD and its rather modest status in Santana's discography. The reason, obviously, is that the powerful swing did not quite succeed. We can say that this album is a continuation of the storyline started on Love, Devotion, Surrender with John McLaughlin. Here we are again witnessing a mighty spiritual message and free jazz arrivals. Here, Santana's partner is Alice Coltrane, the widow of the famous jazz musician. The second album of the hard prog British band consisting of great musicians JOHN CANN, JOHN GUSTAFSON, PAUL HAMMOND.  It is the second and final album by the 1970s British rock band HARD STUFF. During the recording of the album, two band members (John Cann and Paul Hammond) were injured in a serious car accident in Belgium. Cann was sitting in the front passenger seat of their car. Ford Zodiac and suffered a back injury and broken ribs, while Hammond, who was sleeping in the back seat, broke both legs. Kahn spent a week in the hospital in Ostend, and Hammond spent two months.[1] The band managed to finish recording the album, but Cann later stated: "When I listen to it, it sounds a little sketchy and not the way we intended, but still it has its good moments." Hard Stuff disbanded shortly after the release of the album, and the members went their separate ways. Work on Abbey Road took place from February to August 1969 and became the last joint project of all four members of the ensemble (the last numbered album of the group Let It Be, released in 1970, was mostly recorded in January 1969). The record was produced by George Martin, who had worked with the band since 1962. Abbey Road sales totaled four million copies in the first two months. In the UK, the album debuted at the top of the national chart, where it remained for 11 weeks, after which it was supplanted by The Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed for one week. Then he returned to the 1st place again (in the Christmas week) and stayed there for another six weeks (17 weeks in total), until he was displaced by the second Led Zeppelin record - Led Zeppelin II. Released in August 1989. In August 1989, Gorky Park released their self-titled debut album. Videos for the songs "My Generation" and "Bang" were shot in New York in support of him.
