The limited edition of the album contains four additional remixes. The album reached number two on the UK Albums chart. and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

The recording of the album was attended by such stars as Elton John, Little Richard and Jeff Beck. The title song of this album — "Blaze of Glory" — was nominated in 1991 for the Academy Award in the category "Best Music for a Film".
