This album was commercially successful, it reached the top ten on the Billboard 200 in the United States, as well as in several other countries. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) designated it gold, platinum and double platinum on July 30, 1990, after two million sales in the United States: it has sold over 7 million copies worldwide.
