After recording the album "XII" in 1978, the band lost the "branded" mellotrons of Stuart "Woolley" Woolstenholm. Feeling close within the Barclay James Harvest group, Woolley seriously engaged in a solo career. The remaining trio of musicians decided to continue the existence of their collective, making up for the loss mainly due to session musicians. The band's sound has noticeably improved and become more pop, but it has remained "afloat". And that was the main thing. It was released in 1972, after Joplin's death, as a double album. The first record contains performances with Big Brother and the Holding Company, and the second with the Full Tilt Boogie Band, recorded in different locations in 1968 and 1970. There are no live recordings from her first solo work with the Kozmic Blues band on the album, although the songs produced with this group were performed in Full Tilt Boogie Band recordings.
