The Concerts in China is a live album by Jean-Michel Jarre recorded in 1981 and released in 1982 on the label Dreyfus. The album was recorded during Jarre's tour in China in the fall of 1981, which consisted of five concerts in China in Beijing and Shanghai; it was the first performance by a Western pop artist in China after the Cultural Revolution. One of the original compositions of the album – "Arpégiateur" – was used in the soundtrack to the movie "9½ weeks", as well as in several episodes of the mid-1980s American soap opera "Santa Barbara". The band originally consisted of married couple Denis and Denise Lepage, who had a number one dance hit in the US in 1981 with the song "Your Love". Lime released their debut album Your Love in 1981. The title track became a gold record and a No. 1 hit on the Billboard disco chart in the United States. ATLANTIS-SAME-1972-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-VERTIGO-6360609. A rare original continuation of the cult prog group FRUMPY. Atlantis was formed at the end of the summer of 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravets (keyboards) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians previously played in the band Frumpy. The founding members also included guitarist Frank Dees and drummer Kurt Kress (formerly of the band Emergency). After several live performances in Germany, the first LP was released at Island Records Studio in London, which was widely recognized, especially in the United States, where Rumpf's bluesy vocals were appreciated. Diz and Kress left the band after recording. For a four-week tour of England with Procol Harum and Traffic, George Meyer joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg joined Atlantis as drummer. After the tour, they were replaced by Dieter Bornschlegel (who had previously worked with the band Dreamtorte) and Ringo Funk (who had previously worked with Geronimo), with whom the second album It's Getting Better (1973) was recorded. ...more
