Joyride is the third studio album by Swedish pop rock duo Roxette, released on March 25, 1991 by EMI as a follow—up to their international breakthrough album Look Sharp! (1988), as well as the off-album single "It Must Have Been Love" from the soundtrack to the movie Pretty Woman (1990). The album was recorded in 11 months in Sweden. The duo faced serious pressure from the record company to release a successful next album, and resisted the pressure that forced them to move to Los Angeles and work with experienced American producers. After its release, the album was a success both critically and commercially. In a retrospective review for AllMusic, it was called "the work of two pop artists at the peak of their careers." Joyride topped the charts in seven European countries and achieved multi-platinum status in several regions. It remains one of the best-selling albums of all time in Argentina, Austria and Germany.

The album did not chart in the UK, but reached #197 on the Billboard Hot 200 in the US.At the time of recording the album, all the members of the band Free were very young: none of them had turned twenty yet, and bass guitarist Andy Fraser was sixteen years old at all.
