Columbi and Haley also co-produced the band's fourth album, Blood, Sweat & Tears; 4, in 1971. The New Day failed to chart on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 205. The record demonstrates the group's desire to expand its own stylistic framework, a number of his compositions are musically noticeably more complex than the CCR recordings of the 1968-1969 sample.
