MOODY BLUES-ON THE THRESHOLD OF A DREAM-1969-FIRST UK PRESS-DERAM-SML1035. Matrices A-2W/B-2W. A very rare original of the cult album.  On the Threshold of a Dream is the fourth studio album by the British band The Moody Blues, released in April 1969 on Deram Records. This is The Moody Blues' third album recorded with the classic Hayward—Pinder—Lodge—Thomas Edge line—up, and the band's third collaboration with producer Tony Clark. On the Threshold of a Dream was the band's first album, which was recorded in a relatively calm environment, without taking time to work in the studio between concerts. This is partly due to the success of the two previous albums Days of Future Passed and In Search of the Lost Chord, which provided the band with significant attention from the record company Decca Records. In addition, the band members now had a much better idea of what they could achieve in the studio and began writing songs with these possibilities in mind. Equally important, they have just completed an extensive tour of the USA (opening for Cream) and learned a lot during the concerts over the previous year, achieving a much bolder and denser sound both instrumentally and vocally. As a result, On the Threshold of a Dream became one of the most successful albums of the band's entire existence, reached the #1 position in the UK and entered the "Top 20" in the USA. The album received positive reviews from critics and was included in various lists of the best progressive rock albums.

CHILLY-FOR YOUR LOVE-1978-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-POLYDOR -2371885.A mega rare first album by a disco band of the highest standard. Chilly was a German euro disco/rock band from 1978 to 1983. They were created and produced by producer, composer and songwriter Bernt Merle. Their first album "For your Love" included the 11:50 suite (extended version) of the song "For Your Love", recorded with an arrangement by Christian Kolonowitz and Bernt Merle. URIAH HEEP-...VERY 'EAVY VERY 'UMBLE-1970-THE FIRST UK PRESS- VERTIGO SWIRL-6360006.  A mega rare British original of the iconic album. The album was released in June 1970 by Vertigo Records in the UK. The original vinyl release was a spread-out envelope with frontman David Byron depicted on the front sleeve, almost unrecognizable under the cobwebs. It was released in August 1970 by Mercury Records in the United States under the name just Uriah Heep with a different artwork on the cover (a centipede-type monster) and with the track "Bird of Prey" instead of "Lucy Blues". The album was re-released by Bronze Records in 1971 after the band signed with that label. The album shows the band trying out different genres – a mix of heavy metal and progressive rock, rather than the hard rock they became known for on later albums. Tracks 3 and 8 were recorded as Spice songs before the band was renamed Uriah Heep, and featured session musician Colin Wood on keyboards. When Ken Hensley joined Spice in early 1970, the tracks were not re-recorded. ...more

CHARLES LLOYD-SOUNDTRACK- 1969-FIRST PRESS USA-ATLANTIC-SD1519. A rare original by one of the iconic saxophonists of the second wave of the 60s. The Soundtrack is a live album by jazz saxophonist Charles Lloyd, recorded at New York City Hall in 1968 by the Charles Lloyd Quartet featuring Keith Jarrett, Ron McClure and Jack DeJohnette.Tom Jurek's review on Allmusic awarded the album 4 stars and reads: "The soundtrack stomps with all the fury of a live gospel choir trying to assign Saturday night to God and not another guy... The band is in a heavy Latin American mood, where blues, samba, bossa, hard bop, modal and even soul are saturated with blues. With only four tunes presented, the Charles Lloyd Quartet, although slightly more dissonant than in 1966 and 1967, plays much harder, rougher and gets into rhythm faster than any group that Lloyd led previously... The band broke up shortly after when Jarrett left to play with Miles Davis, but if it had been a swan song live, they couldn't have picked a better gig. ...more
