A rare European original legend in rock music. Still Got the Blues is the eighth studio album by Northern Irish guitarist and singer Gary Moore, released in 1990. The album marked a significant change in style for Moore, [1] [2] who prior to this album was primarily known for his hard rock work with Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake, and during his extensive solo career, as well as his jazz fusion work with Colosseum II. As the name suggests, Still Got The Blues demonstrates Moore's commitment to electric blues. The title track was released as a single and peaked at # 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 16, 1991. [4] To date, it is Moore's only single to chart on this chart. On February 16, 1991, the album peaked at number 83 on the Billboard 200, and was certified gold by the RIAA in November 1995. BRING ON THE NIGHT is Sting's first live album, recorded during several concerts in 1985 and released in 1986. The title is taken from a song by the Police from their 1979 album Reggatta de Blanc. The songs performed include Sting's early solo material from the studio album The Dream of the Blue Turtles and from his time with The Police, with some performances performed as a medley of the two. The touring band features prominent jazz musicians Branford Marsalis on tenor and soprano saxophones, Darryl Jones on bass guitar, Kenny Kirkland on keyboards and synthesizer, and Omar Hakim on drums. Backing vocalists Janice Pendarvis and Dolette McDonald also perform. Despite the lack of hit singles, the album reached number 16 on the UK album Charts and earned Sting a Grammy Award in 1988 for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. ...more
