The cult album Dressed to Kill is the third studio album by the American hard rock band Kiss, released on March 19, 1975. It was produced by Casablanca Records president Bill Bogart and the band itself, as the label's financial situation at the time did not allow hiring a professional producer. Dressed to Kill peaked at number 32 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart in the United States and was certified gold by the RIAA on February 28, 1977. "Come On, Love Me" and "Rock and Roll All Nite" were released as singles, but failed to climb the charts. It was his first album after the breakup of his band the Bluesbreakers in May 1968,[3] although others claim it was July 14, 1968. It was also his last album with Decca before moving to Polydor.John Mayall sings and plays harmonica, organ and guitar on the album. The other band members are a young Mick Taylor (guitar), Colin Allen (drums) and Steven Thompson (bass). Guitarist Peter Green is featured in the track "First Time Alone". The engineer was Derek Varnals. All the songs on the album were written by Mayall.The album's title comes from Laurel Canyon, California, USA (in the Los Angeles area), where John Mayall subsequently lived from 1969 to 1979. This is an account of his visit there before moving to the United States on a more permanent basis. At that time, this area was loved by many musicians. The album was certified platinum in Brazil, and gold in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. The album was recorded in 1987 and released on May 3, 1988. In 1987, the single "The Living Daylights" was released, which became the theme to the film "Sparks from the Eyes" about James Bond and was later included in the album. Of the singles, the most popular was "Stay on These Roads", which reached number one on the Norwegian chart, and performed well in other European countries.
