In the United States, where Bowie has already had three albums on the charts, Aladdin Sane reached 17th place on the Billboard Top LPs chart. Tape, which became Bowie's most successful commercial album in both countries at the time. Aladdin Sane has sold an estimated 4.6 million copies worldwide, making it one of Bowie's best-selling records.
