WINGS-LONDON TOWN-1978-THE FIRST JAPAN PRESS-MPL-EPS-81000 Rare Japanese original in top condition with a poster.  London Town is the sixth studio album by the British—American rock band Wings. It was released in March 1978, two years after its predecessor Wings at the Speed of Sound. The album had a long and stormy preparation, during which the band's 1977 tour plans were canceled due to the fact that Linda McCartney became pregnant with her and Paul McCartney's fourth child, and two Wings members left, leaving the band as a trio consisting of Paul, Linda and Danny Lane. Recording sessions took place intermittently throughout the year, mostly at Abbey Road Studios in London and aboard a luxury yacht in the Virgin Islands. "London Town" reached the top 5 of the UK and US charts. However, he failed to repeat the success of the three previous Wings albums, and he received mostly negative reviews from music critics. The lead single "With a Little Luck" became a number 1 hit in the United States, but subsequent singles from the album had only minor chart success. Also recorded during the sessions was the 1977 single "Mull of Kintyre", which until 1984 was the best-selling single in the history of the British charts and remains the best-selling single in the UK to this day. ...more

SEEKERS - A WORLD OF OUR OWN-1965-THE FIRST UK PRESS-COLUMBIA-33SX1722.  The rare British original "A World of Our Own" is a 1965 single written by Tom Springfield that became an international hit by the Australian pop group The Seekers. The single reached number 19 on the US Hot 100 chart and number 2 on the Easy Listening chart. It reached number 3 in the UK and number 2 in Australia. Three years later, the song "A World of Our Own" was recorded by Sonny James. It was his sixth number one in a row and his 26th hit on the US country Music chart. The single lasted three weeks at number one and a total of 17 weeks on the chart. ...more

STEVE VAI- PASSION AND WARFARE - 1990- FIRST PRESS UK-FFT- GRUB17. A rare British original. Passion and Warfare is the second studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released on May 22, 1990 on Relativity and Epic Records. He received a gold certificate from the RIAA. Passion and Warfare was written based on a series of episodes of dreams that Vai had when he was younger, and in the album's guitar notes book Vai summarizes it this way: "Jimi Hendrix meets Jesus Christ at a party that Ben Hur arranged for Mel Blanc." It was all recorded at Mothership Studios in his Hollywood Hills home, a 1,600-square-foot (150 m2) building that also recorded his guitar parts for Whitesnake's 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale has small spoken parts on the album; Coverdale, Adrian Vandenberg and Rudy Sarzo are credited with backing vocals. Vai claims that planning for the album began back in 1982, but was postponed after joining David Lee Roth's band and was not resumed until the breakup with Roth in 1989. ...more

JOPLIN, JANIS-IN CONCERT (2LP'S)-1972- FIRST PRESS USA-COLUMBIA-AL31162.  A rare American original of the cult album. In Concert is a live album by Janis Joplin. It was released in 1972, after Joplin's death, as a double album. The first record contains performances with Big Brother and the Holding Company, and the second with the Full Tilt Boogie Band, recorded in different locations in 1968 and 1970. There are no live recordings from her first solo work with the Kozmic Blues band on the album, although the songs produced with this group were performed in Full Tilt Boogie Band recordings. The photographs used for the gatefold album were taken by photographer David Gar in New York in 1969 and 1970. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 in the US. ...more
