The album contained two successful singles: "Knock on Wood" (#1 in the US in the pop genre, #6 in the US in the RB genre, #5 in the US in the club music genre, #6 in the UK, #13 in Germany) and "Light My Fire / 137 Disco Heaven" (#69 in the US in the pop genre, #36 in the US in the RB genre, #5 in the UK, #26 in Germany). In 1985, a double single with remixed versions of "Knock on Wood" and "Light My Fire" reached number 7 in the UK charts, followed by the re-release of "You Really Touched My Heart" (number 89 in the UK). ...more

Released on August 12, 1991 by Elektra Records, it is commonly referred to as the Black Album due to its packaging design. His recording took place in a one-on-one studio in Los Angeles for eight months, during which Metallica often clashed with its new producer Bob Rock. The album marked a change in the band's music from the thrash metal style of their previous four albums to a slower, heavier and more refined sound. Metallica performed Metallica in full during the 2012 Black Albums European Tour. In 2020, the album was ranked 235th in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest Albums of all time. In December 2019, Metallica became the fourth release in American history to reach the 550-week milestone on the Billboard 200 chart. BRIAN  MAY (EX-QUEEN) + FRIENDS-STAR FLEET PROJECT - 1983-THE FIRST UK PRESS- EMI-SFLT107806. A rare British original by a QUEEN guitarist. The Star Fleet Project is a solo project by Brian May, Queen's guitarist, and a mini-album of the same name. The album, released under the name "Brian May + Friends", features May, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alan Gratzer (then playing in REO Speedwagon), Phil Chen (session bassist who played with Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart) and Fred Mandel (keyboardist Alice Cooper and additional keyboardist in Hot Space Tour and The Works by Queen). "The result is high-octane instrumental compositions in the rock style, which instantly became "royal" and are not much different from Flash with the addition of guitar pyrotechnics." The recordings were not intended for release and were minimally mixed.  "[May] called the Star Fleet Project a 'mini-album' because he considered it... too short to be a full-fledged album, but too long to even be a single." Although the album was not a success at first, by the end of the year it had reached number 35 in the UK and 125 in the USA. ...more
