UK - British progressive rock band, a short-lived, but left a noticeable trace in the history of British progressive rock scene. The group was founded by vocalist and bassist John Wetton, drummer bill Bruford (both former members of King Crimson), keyboardist and violinist Eddie Jobson (later Roxy Music and the band of Frank Zappa) and guitarist Allan Holdsworth. Thanks to the participation of such famous musicians UK received the status of a supergroup. After recording the first album "U. K." left the band Bruford and Holsworth and took drummer Terry Bozzio (another native from the group of Frank Zappa). In the Court of the Crimson King is the debut Studio album by the British band King Crimson, released in 1969. The album ranked fifth in the list of Top 25 best albums of progressive rock version Progarchives.com. This drive has had a big and unusually strong influence on the development of psychedelic rock, progressive rock and heavy metal. The album was recorded with exceptional musicality, the poetics of texts. While some rock groups (e.g., Pink Floyd) were prone to writing long songs, while others tried to hold in a rock song freedom jazz forms (Frank Zappa), in the Court of the Crimson King group used a bizarre poetry blakowski nightmares, visions, and premonitions.
