The album contains live recordings from concerts held in the framework of the Sing Blue Silver tour 1983-84 years taken for promotion of the third Studio album of the group — Seven and the Ragged Tiger (1983). Being produced after which enjoyed great success album, Tug of War, Pipes of Peace was received by the public is also quite good and many songs from it became hits, but music critics have made the album much cooler than a Tug of War..When the album was released, many critics noted that Pipes of Peace is similar to its predecessor, the album Tug of War, in many ways.
