FOREIGNER-4-1981-first press UK-ATLANTIC - K50796.matrix A-4/B. Foreigner 4 is the fourth Studio album by the hard rock band Foreigner, released in 1981 by Atlantic Records. The songs "Waiting for a Girl Like You", "Urgent" and "Juke Box Hero", released as the album's main singles, became hits. The CD seems to have completed the band's transition to hard rock, started in Head Games. Ian MacDonald, al Greenwood left the band before recording 4, they were not permanently replaced, and the sound of the album changed. As a result, all the songs on the album were written by Lou Gramm and/or Mick Jones. MacDonald and Grievor played saxophone and keyboards, respectively, thus needed musicians who would be able to replace them. Junior Walker's saxophone solo on "Urgent" was probably the best thing on the album. The album was also recorded by a young Thomas Dolby, who later had a successful solo career. "Urgent" was re-released in 1991. It was released in August 1983 on LP and cassette. The album was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen in about 7 weeks. Bent Out of Shape will be Rainbow's last Studio album before their twelve-year hiatus from the Studio. It also proved to be the band's last Studio album with vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, bassist Roger Glover, and keyboardist David Rosenthal, as well as their only drummer, Chuck Burgee, who replaced Bobby Rondinelli shortly before the album was recorded.  The album went high on the charts : Sweden-6th place, Norway - 6th place, UK-11th place, Germany-25th place, Billboard 200 - 34th place. ...more

MOORE GARY-AFTER THE WAR-1989-The first EU-VIRGIN press is V2575. A rare original legend in rock music. After the War is the seventh Studio album by Irish guitarist and singer Gary Moore, released in 1989. Like its predecessor Wild Frontier, After The War contains elements of Celtic music. The instrumental track "Dunluce" is named after Dunluce castle in Northern Ireland.On "Led Clones", the vocals are performed by Ozzy Osbourne, who Moore worked with before the singer started working with Randy Rhodes. This song makes fun of bands like Kingdom Come, which were popular at the time and were based on the sound and image of Led Zeppelin. "It was a very fun song," Ozzy recalled, " and it was an honor to record it with Gary." The Sisters of Mercy frontman Andrew Eldritch performs backing vocals on "After The War", "Speak for Yourself" and "Blood of Emeralds". Moore once again pays tribute to his long-time friend and colleague, Phil Lynott on the track "Blood of Emeralds". "After The War" will be Moore's last work as a stylist for mainstream hard rock, as well as his last rock album until 1997's"Dark Days in Paradise". Starting with his next album, Still Got The Blues, he will primarily switch to playing the Blues. Although cozy Powell played drums on the album, he was replaced by Chris Slade for the tour, as he was about to tour with Black Sabbath, in support of their album Headless Cross, where he also played drums. ...more
