Pendulum is the last CCR album to feature rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, who left the band shortly after the album's release. The record demonstrates the group's desire to expand their own stylistic framework, a number of his compositions are musically much more complex than the CCR recordings of 1968-1969.
