Lot 23.OMEGA (RED STAR)- FROM HUNGARY-1968 FIRST PRESS UK-DECCA-NMINT/NMINT

OMEGA (RED STAR)- FROM HUNGARY-1968 UK FIRST PRESS-DECCA-SKL4974. Matrices A-1W/B-1W. Mega Rare is the first album recorded in English and released in England.  500 copies of stereo and mono were released. In 1968, the manager of the British band "Spencer Davis Group" invited me to visit the UK with several concerts.  The Omega was allowed to leave without question. At that time, the band already had quite a lot of song material, which they played in front of English listeners in London and elsewhere. One of the concerts was attended by two friends-guitarists – the legendary George Harrison and Eric Clapton. They suggested that Omega record at Abbey Road Studios, which they did. The recording lasted for three days. The album was released in the same year on the label "Decca", and was so successful that the group was offered to record another album without leaving the box office. But the authorities in Budapest got wind of this and ordered the second album to be released in Hungary, otherwise the band would never be released abroad again. I had to comply and record the album at home in Hungarian. It included less than half of the tracks from the English album, and even then heavily reworked, and the rest of the material was completely different. The CD turned out to be very successful and sold 100 thousand copies in Europe – at that time it was a record compared to even some famous Western bands! ...more

Lot 44.DEMON FUZZ-AFREAKA!-1970-FIRST PRESS UK-DAWN-NMINT/NMINT

DEMON FUZZ-AFREAKA! - 1970-THE FIRST PRESS of UK-DAWN-DNLS3013, a mega rare original by a British prog band. Up to a certain point, Demon Fuzz was quite a typical British progressive band of the late sixties. Atypical was the fact that the team consisted of seven black members, which, however, was also not so rare. A turning point occurred when the Demon Fuzz musicians visited Morocco, where they fully discovered African music. Here lies the secret of this unusual group: when they returned back to the UK, they realized that it would be great to mix their native progressive rock with the African rhythms that they loved so much. As a result, their cult album was born, which is designated as Afro-rock. However, the musical palette of Demon Fuzz turned out even brighter. In their heavy progressive, in addition to the African influence, you can find elements of soul (especially in the vocals), and jazz with a confident wind section, and although not so significant, but slipping funk. Their record "Afreka!" sounds very interesting and diverse, and their amazing combination of styles makes the most impressive impression. The album consists of five very long tracks. Not all of them immediately cut into the brain, but nevertheless look interesting and give pleasure to how well and thoughtfully they are made and played. Especially impressive is the epic Past, Present, and Future for ten minutes and bright in terms of melody and internal diversity of Disillusioned Man. ...more

ALEXANDER LYAPIN (EX-DDT, AQUARIUM) - ANASHA-1992-FIRST PRESS LATVIA-RITONIS-8824. A rare original of the iconic guitarist.Alexander Sergeyevich Lyapin (born June 1, 1956, Leningrad) is a Soviet and Russian musician, virtuoso guitarist. In 2013, he emigrated to the United States  In the late 70s, life forced Lyapin to go on the professional stage, where he played in several VIA, toured a lot in the most remote corners of the country, but in January 1982 he returned to rock and roll as the guitarist of "Aquarium" and quickly became an integral part of their sound palette and stage show. The band's repertoire includes several of his instrumental pieces. The famous blues "Cold Beer", a version of the song by Boris Grebenshchikov and the future "mitka" Vladimir Shinkarev, interpreted by Alexander based on the music of Jimi Hendrix, for a long time became a real calling card of the guitarist. In 1988-1990, "EXPERIMENTS" regularly performed in St. Petersburg halls, while Lyapin himself simultaneously recorded with Yuri Morozov, and played with "DDT". In general, Lyapin's collaboration with DDT has always been distinguished by originality: the guitarist was not in the permanent composition of the group, but took part in its work if he was interested in a particular program of the group. Since 1988 — he has been a regular member of Sergey Kuryokhin's POP MECHANICS, with which he played until Kuryokhin's death in July 1996. He was a permanent creative partner of Sergey, engaged in the Rock sector of the project, from the experience of working with which the now existing "ROCKMECHANIKA" grew. At the end of 1990, Lyapin, who had just returned from a long trip to the United States, organized a new group "Turkish Tea", in which the cellist Vsevolod Gakkel (ex-" Aquarium") and the drummer Alexander Yemelyanov (ex-" Gezy","Resurrection") played. The group began to give concerts, performed at the Tenth Anniversary of the Leningrad Rock Club (March 1991), changed its composition a couple of times and disbanded by the summer of the same year. Meanwhile, in February 1991, Lyapin unexpectedly appeared with "Aquarium" on the stage of the Palace of Youth, and a month later took part in the sensational Last Concert of the group during the same Decade of the Leningrad Rock Club in the DS  In August 1991, at the Leningrad Recording Studio, Yuri Morozov finished almost two years of work on Lyapin's album "Anasha", in the recording of which the musicians" DDT", the famous jazz saxophonist Mikhail Kosciushkin and the sisters Marina and Tatiana Kapuro took part. ...more
