Lightbulb Sun is the sixth studio album by British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree, first released in May 2000 on CD only , and then in 2008 on vinyl. This album, along with their previous album Stupid Dream, is considered a more commercial, poppy sound, as opposed to the abstract instrumental sound of their previous albums or the heavier metal sound in their subsequent 2000s albums. The album is split into two parts between "Rest Will Flow" and "Hatesong". The album's reception was mostly positive. Classic Rock magazine described the album as "an album of amazing songs and amazing musicality...
