The album marked a significant change in style for Moore, [1] [2] who prior to this album was primarily known for his hard rock work with Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake, and during his extensive solo career, as well as his jazz fusion work with Colosseum II. As the name suggests, Still Got The Blues demonstrates Moore's commitment to electric blues. The title track was released as a single and peaked at # 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 16, 1991. Although the recording sessions for this album ended in June 1989, EMI Records decided to postpone the release until early 1990 to avoid a clash with the Marillion Seasons End album released in September.
