ABBA-VOULEZ-VOUS-1979-THE FIRST PRESS OF SWEDEN-POLAR - POLS282.A rare Swedish original of the cult album.  Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish pop band ABBA, released in 1979. The release is characterized by a large number of dance-oriented tracks, but it is wrong to define the genre of the album as exclusively "disco"; for example, the song "Does Your Mother Know" has quite definite rock motifs. The work on the album went on for more than a year, and during this time the participants had accumulated more material than what they managed to put on the album. Among the works of that period published much later, it is worth mentioning the composition Dream World, included as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue. In 1981, the album "Voulez-Vous" was released in the USSR by the company "Melody" and became the last numbered album "ABBA", released in the Soviet Union. A very rare British original of the cult group. In 1967, Trinity released their debut album Open on the Gomel Marmalade label, which was intentionally recorded "live" in the studio. Despite Odger's exciting improvisations and Driscoll's strong vocals, the album went unnoticed. However, the single This Wheel's On Fire - a cover version of Dylan's song unknown to a wide audience at that time - released in the early summer of 1968, produced the effect of an exploding bomb and rose to 5th place in the charts. He forced the audience listening to the albums to pay attention to Open, which, with great delay, also entered the charts. Julie Driscoll, with her extravagant image and radical views, became the subject of increased interest from the press, and also received several offers to star in a movie. ...more
