DEEP PURPLE-FIREBALL-1971-FIRST PRESS UK-HARVEST- SHVL793 Matrix A-2U/B-3U . A rare original of the cult album. Fireball is the fifth studio album by the British rock band Deep Purple. Recorded between September 1970 and June 1971, released in September 1971 on Harvest Records. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios (like its predecessor). Compared to Deep Purple in Rock, this album was recorded in a more experimental style. Allmusic named it one of the band's four most important albums, along with Machine Head, In Rock and Burn. Ian Gillan, unlike the rest of the band, considers this album a classic of Deep Purple. Nevertheless, he noticed that the inclusion of "Anyone's Daughter" (in the country style and with humorous lyrics) on the album was fun, but a mistake ("A good bit of fun, but a mistake"). Jon Lord singled out several tracks of the album, such as "No No No" and "Fools", and especially noted Pace's playing in the title track. The track "Strange Kind of Woman", released as a single in February 1971 and rose to number eight in the UK charts. 20,000 copies were sold in the first week. A rare German original of the cult album. Child in Time is the debut album by the British jazz rock band Ian Gillan Band, released in 1976. The album got its name from the Deep Purple song "Child in Time", a version of which appeared on the record. The album reached number 36 in the Swedish charts and number 55 in the UK.It was Ian Gillan's first release after leaving Deep Purple, as well as his former Deep Purple bandmate bassist Roger Glover as the album's producer. ...more
