A very rare British original of the iconic ROLLING STONES album. Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) is the first compilation album by The Rolling Stones. With various covers and track listings, it was released on March 28, 1966 on London Records in the US and on November 4, 1966 on Decca Records in the UK. The American edition focused on songs from 1964 and 1965 with two new tunes: the recent "19th Nervous Breakdown" and the re-recorded "Time Is on My Side" with a guitar intro. The British version covered a longer period, starting with the band's first A-side single in 1963, "Come On", and ending with several songs from 1966, including the recent hit "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow?" The album reached number three on the US Billboard 200 chart.[1] and the fourth place in the UK albums chart.[2] It remained on the chart for 99 weeks in the US, where the RIAA certified the album as double platinum, which meant more than two million copies sold. ...more

With Antonio Carlos Jobim on guitar and arrangements by Marty Paichaon was released on the Verve Records label in 1965. It peaked at number 41 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was released in the USA on June 7, 1976 by Capitol Records (catalog number SKBO 11537), in the UK on June 10, 1976 by Parlophone (catalog number PCSP 719); at that time, some media suggested that the album was released on the twentieth anniversary of the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. If this was indeed the intention, then EMI made a mistake in their calculations, since in reality these two first met in July 1957. The album's title, Rock ’n’ Roll Music, is most likely taken from a Chuck Berry song, a version of which performed by The Beatles was included on the second side of the album. The album mainly consists of cover versions of songs written by such prominent rock and roll authors and performers of the 1950s as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkins and Larry Williams, as well as notable original songs by the Lennon-McCartney duo, such as "Drive My Car", "Revolution", "Back in the U.S.S.R." and "Get Back".
