Blind Faith is the only album by the British rock band of the same name, which was released in August 1969 and immediately topped the US and UK charts. Recording took place in London, first at Morgan Studios, and then at Olympic Studios, under the direction of producer Jimmy Miller. All tracks on this album belong to the band members, except for a cover version of "Well All Right" from the Buddy Holly repertoire. The album received positive reviews from critics, was a great commercial success and immediately topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. The cover of the album, published in the UK, shows a young topless girl (the younger sister of photographer Bob Seidemann, the creator of the cover) holding a model airplane. In the US, this picture was considered not quite decent, and the album was also released with an alternative cover, which featured a photo of the band members. The album went platinum in five countries, and triple platinum in Australia.

The CD was released after the extraordinary success of Band on the Run and also became very popular. Paul McCartney's first album with Capitol Records. After the release of Band on the Run, Wings also included Jimmy McCulloch (lead guitarist) and Jeff Britton (drummer) in 1974. After McCartney wrote several new songs for the upcoming album, the band flew to New Orleans in January 1975 to record Venus and Mars.Britton, after an argument with McCulloch, left the band, having managed to participate in the recording of only three songs of the album. It was the first album entirely written and produced by the band members. Previously, they relied on the material of the songwriting team of Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. The album was released by RCA Records in Europe and Australia and by Capitol Records in the United States, Canada and Japan. The album completed the band's transition to the hard rock style, which has always been the hallmark of their self-composed B-sides.
