MADONNA-EROTICA-1992-FIRST PRESS UK/EU GERMANY-WARNER-9362-45031-1 . A very rare European original of the cult album of the Queen of pop music. Erotica is the fifth studio album by American singer Madonna, released on October 20, 1992 by Maverick and Sire Records. Erotica is a concept album about sex and romance, including her alter ego, lover Dita, inspired by actress Dita Parlo. Some of his songs also take on a more confessional tone, influenced by the loss of two close friends of Madonna due to AIDS. Erotica received generally positive reviews from critics, who considered it one of Madonna's most adventurous albums and praised her comments about taboos and AIDS. Commercially, the album was less successful than Madonna's previous albums, peaking at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming her first studio album not topping the chart since her debut. Internationally, it topped the charts in Australia, Finland and France, and also entered the top five in a number of other countries, such as Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Erotica was later certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and sold over six million copies worldwide. ...more

QUEEN-A NIGHT AT THE OPERA-1975-FIRST PRESS UK-EMI - EMTC103.Matrices A-4/B-4. A rare British original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "A Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium". The final album "God Save the Queen" is the anthem of Great Britain arranged by Brian May; it was this composition that invariably completed each concert of the band. The album was ranked 230th on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and 128th on the 2020 list. ...more

HARRISON, GEORGE-BEST OF (1976-1989) -1989-FIRST PRESS UK/EU-GERMANY - WARNER-925726-1. A rare collection from GEORGE HARRISON. Best of Dark Horse 1976-1989 is a compilation album by English musician George Harrison, released in October 1989. His second compilation, after the Capitol/EMI compilation The Best of George Harrison (1976), contains songs from Harrison's releases on his Dark Horse label between 1976 and 1987. The album also includes the 1989 single "Cheer Down", which became Harrison's contribution to the soundtrack to the movie "Lethal Weapon 2", and two tracks recorded specifically for the compilation: "Poor Little Girl" and "Cockamamie Business". Despite the popularity of Harrison's work during this period – both as a solo artist with his album Cloud Nine (1987), and as a member of The Traveling Wilburys – the compilation failed to achieve commercial success. The album remains the only official release to include "Poor Little Girl" and "Cockamamie Business". ...more
