The album was recorded during Jarre's tour in China in the fall of 1981, which consisted of five concerts in China in Beijing and Shanghai; it was the first performance by a Western pop artist in China after the Cultural Revolution. One of the original compositions of the album – "Arpégiateur" – was used in the soundtrack to the movie "9½ weeks", as well as in several episodes of the mid-1980s American soap opera "Santa Barbara". The opening track "The Overture" is the first slow-motion part of "Magnetic Fields Part 1". The album reached number 6 in the UK charts, No. 1 in Portugal and No. 76 in Australia.  ...more
