Since the appearance of the album "Performance" on the shelves of stores, a barrage of accusations from critics immediately fell on the heads of the musicians. Eloy was accused of imitating and repeating themselves! According to critics, there was nothing new in this album, but just a repetition of the previous Time To Turn! But, despite the attacks on the band, the audience received the album quite warmly! Perofrmance is a disc very characteristic of Eloy in the first half of the 80s, Bornemann seems to still not be able to decide what to play for them: either metal, or space rock. The melodies, as always, are pleasant, but there are no particularly bright ones, and the performance, again, as always, is excellent. Dominant keyboards with (increasingly rare) guitar solos. ATLANTIS-SAME-1972-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-VERTIGO-6360609. A rare original continuation of the cult prog group FRUMPY. Atlantis was formed at the end of the summer of 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravets (keyboards) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians previously played in the band Frumpy. The founding members also included guitarist Frank Dees and drummer Kurt Kress (formerly of the band Emergency). After several live performances in Germany, the first LP was released at Island Records Studio in London, which was widely recognized, especially in the United States, where Rumpf's bluesy vocals were appreciated. Diz and Kress left the band after recording. For a four-week tour of England with Procol Harum and Traffic, George Meyer joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg joined Atlantis as drummer. After the tour, they were replaced by Dieter Bornschlegel (who had previously worked with the band Dreamtorte) and Ringo Funk (who had previously worked with Geronimo), with whom the second album It's Getting Better (1973) was recorded. ...more
