Recorded between September 1970 and June 1971, it was released in September 1971 on the Harvest Records label. The album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios (like its predecessor). Compared to Deep Purple in Rock, this album was recorded in a more experimental style. Allmusic named it one of the band's four most important albums, along with Machine Head, In Rock and Burn. Ian Gillan, unlike the rest of the band, considers this album a classic of Deep Purple. However, he noted that the inclusion of "Anyone's Daughter" on the album (in a country style and with humorous lyrics) was fun, but a mistake ("A good bit of fun, but a mistake"). Jon Lord highlighted several tracks on the album, such as "No No No" and "Fools", and especially noted Pace's playing in the title track. The track "Strange Kind of Woman", released as a single in February 1971 and rose to number eight in the UK charts. 20,000 copies were sold in the first week. A rare Swedish original. Joyride is the third studio album by Swedish pop rock duo Roxette, released on March 25, 1991 by EMI as a follow—up to their international breakthrough album Look Sharp! (1988), as well as the off-album single "It Must Have Been Love" from the soundtrack to the movie Pretty Woman (1990). The album was recorded in 11 months in Sweden. The duo faced serious pressure from the record company to release a successful next album, and resisted the pressure that forced them to move to Los Angeles and work with experienced American producers. After its release, the album was a success both critically and commercially. In a retrospective review for AllMusic, it was called "the work of two pop artists at the peak of their careers."  Joyride topped the charts in seven European countries and achieved multi-platinum status in several regions.
