The album contains 14 songs from his singles released between August 1958 and May 1962. It includes all of Richard's singles from this period that reached the top 3 of the UK Singles Chart.
In Canada, the album was retitled "Living Doll" and was released in September 1963 and spent three weeks at number 1 on the Chum Albums Index in October and eight weeks in the top 5 overall.

High Civilization is the nineteenth studio album by the British pop group the Bee Gees, released on March 25, 1991 in the United Kingdom, and on May 14, 1991 in the United States-their last album recorded for Warner Bros. Records, after a four-year contract (they will return to WB through a subsidiary company Reprise Records in 2006: having obtained the rights to their previously released material, they will reissue each album through Reprise). Perhaps in response to the firm resistance of American radio to the two previous albums-E. S. P.
