CHILLY-FOR YOUR LOVE-1978-FIRST PRESS GERMANY-POLYDOR -2371885.A mega rare first album by a disco band of the highest standard. Chilly was a German euro disco/rock band from 1978 to 1983. They were created and produced by producer, composer and songwriter Bernt Merle. Their first album "For your Love" included the 11:50 suite (extended version) of the song "For Your Love", recorded with an arrangement by Christian Kolonowitz and Bernt Merle. The original song "For Your Love" was a Yardbirds hit, released in 1965 and written by Graham Gouldman. Bernt Merle added new lyrics and composed additional music to the arrangement of "I Walk alone", and the suite became a great international disco hit. Bernt Merle created with "For Your Love" a new standard in disco music of the late 70s - early 80s. The song remained on the Billboard Dance club songs chart for 7 weeks, peaking at number 38 in April 1979. ...more

Additionally, Adrian "Ade" Shaw of Magic Muscle replaced Paul Rudolph during the recording session. The music on this album is more pop-oriented than their previous offerings. The cover is the only Hawkwind design by Hipgnosis, featuring interior photographs of Battersea Power Station, edited by Richard Manning, and graphics by Jeff Halpin. ...more
