SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE- GREATEST HITS -1970-ORIGINAL PRESS 1972 UK-EPIC-SEPC69002. Matrices A-1/B-1. A rare early edition of the grandees of funk music. This is a compilation album by the American band Sly and the Family Stone. It was first released on November 21, 1970 by Epic Records. The album includes all the singles from the albums Dance to the Music (1968), Life (1968) and Stand! (1969). Three tracks released as singles in 1969 first appear on the album here: "Hot Fun in the Summertime", "Everybody Is a Star" and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)". The recordings in this compilation do not always match the versions of the singles; some songs are presented here in their album version and mixes. Mixes sometimes have different editing and vocal and/or instrumentation changes. Greatest Hits was certified five times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling five million copies in the United States. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the album 60th on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, 61st on its revised 2012 list, and 343rd in its 2020 ranking. ...more

PINK FAIRIES-WHAT A BUNCH OF SWEETS-1972- FIRST PRESS UK-POLYDOR-2383132. A very rare original of the English prog-psycho band. Pink Fairies — What a Bunch of Sweeties (1972) This release is by many the most beloved of the three Pink Fairies albums recorded on the Polydor label. The record was recorded in 1972, at a time when the band's own reputation as hippie hooligans was already overshadowed by the soaring Hawkwind, "What a Bunch of Sweets" found that the band was rebuilding under the perverted American-rock style of modern MC5, with a high level of noise, but, unfortunately, with a low level of explosive determination, which was the hallmark of their debut album.The loss of the band's founder (Twink) may or may not have contributed to the further breakup, although it cannot be denied that in full instrumental overdrive, the incarnation of the three-person band (plus invited guests) was at least as dramatic as that of its predecessor. Indeed, the nine-minute attack on The Ventures' song "Walk Don't Run" ranks among the best Pink Fairies recordings of all time, while the bonus inclusion of an even longer version gives this record even more significance. There is also a hot version of The Beatles song "I Saw Her Standing There", a perverted country opus "Pigs of Uranus" and, concluding about the bonus tracks, a gloomy reinterpretation of the Don Nicks song "Goin' Down". ...more

BENNY GOODMAN QUARTET MADE IN JAPAN -1965-THE FIRST UK-CAPITOL-T2282 PRESS. A rare British original of the iconic album.  In 1962, he toured widely in the USSR, gave concerts with his jazz band in Moscow (twice), Leningrad, Kiev, Tbilisi, Tashkent. In an interview, he told reporters that he was glad that the ban on jazz in the USSR had been lifted. The first performance took place on May 30 and, as a result of this trip, the Benny Goodman concert album was released in Moscow. In 1963, the RCA Victor studio hosted a reunion of the legendary Benny Goodman quartet of the 1930s (Goodman himself, Gene Krupa, Teddy Wilson and Lionel Hampton), and a year later the album recorded by them (called "Together Again!") again became one of the most popular albums and gave impetus to new ones on tour to Asia.  The album Made in japan was the result of these tours.  Recordings of some works of academic music (in particular, sonatas for clarinet and piano by Francis Poulenc together with Leonard Bernstein, as well as music by Bernstein himself, Johannes Brahms, Aaron Copland and Claude Debussy) belong to the same period of creativity. ...more

VAN MORRISON (EX-THEM)-HYMNS TO THE SILENCE- 1991-THE FIRST EU-HOLLAND-POLYDOR PRESS-649027-1. A very rare European original of the cult album. Hymns to the Silence is the twenty-first studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It was his first studio double album. Morrison recorded the album in 1990 in Buckington at The Wool Hall Studios and in London at the Townhouse and Westside Studios. When Hymns to the Silence was released in 1991, it reached number five on the UK Albums Chart and received positive reviews from critics. Morrison's use of various musical styles was well received, as were the more mundane songs from the album, with an otherwise spiritual content. ...more

ABBA-MORE ABBA GOLD (2LP'S) -1993-FIRST PRESS UK/EU-GERMANY-POLYDOR-519353-1. A very rare original double compilation of the cult band with unrealized tracks, among others.  The ABBA Gold album featured 19 of the most notable hits on an international scale, but some equally well-known songs like "Summer Night City" and "Angeleyes" remained "overboard". He also did not include a number of other songs by the band (recordings from the early 1980s: "Head over Heels" and "The Day Before You Came"; b-sides of famous singles and just tracks from albums, as well as "I Am the City", recorded in 1982, but never released).
