East of Eden were a British progressive rock band who had a Top 10 hit in the UK with the single "Jig-a-Jig" in 1970. The track was stylistically different from any of their other work. Although some may consider them a symphonic progressive band, others claim that their style is mainly jazz-oriented.In 1968 they moved to London and signed a recording contract with Deram Records. In 1969 they released the album Mercator Projected, followed by Snafu (1970)  which entered the Top 30 of the UK Albums Chart, while the single "Ramadhan" took second place in France. ...more

The second studio album by English singer-songwriter Elton John. It was released on April 10, 1970 on DJM Records. Including John's breakthrough single "Your Song", the album helped establish his career in the heyday of popular music as a singer and songwriter. In the USA, Elton John was certified gold in February 1971 by the RIAA. In the same year, he was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category "Album of the Year". In 2003, the album was ranked 468th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All time. A rare British original. A Night at the Opera is the fourth studio album by the rock band Queen, released on December 2, 1975. The record was a great success: its sales reached three million, and in the UK charts it held the first position for four inconsistent weeks. The title of the album — "Night at the Opera" — as well as the subsequent one, is taken from the repertoire of American comedians of the 1930s by the Marx brothers, namely from the film of the same name. At each Queen concert, several songs from A Night at the Opera were necessarily performed (while "Love of My Life" was never performed in the album version). It is considered that the song "Death on Two Legs" is dedicated to the former producer of the band. "Bohemian Rhapsody" brought the band a resounding success and in 2000 was recognized in Britain as the "song of the millennium". The final album "God Save the Queen" is the anthem of Great Britain arranged by Brian May; it was this composition that invariably completed each concert of the band.
