A rare British original.  Stranded is the third studio album by the British rock band Roxy Music, released by Island Records in 1973. The CD was recorded at London's Air Studios. Stranded, an album featuring collaborators Bryan Ferry, Andy McKay and Phil Manzanera for the first time, rose to the top of the UK Albums Chart. The track "Street Life", released as a single, rose to #9 in the UK. Bryan Ferry listed the band's third album as one of his favorite creations. Best of the Beach Boys is the first compilation album released by the American rock band The Beach Boys on the Capitol Records label in 1966. The first version was released in the United States on July 5, 1966, two months after Pet Sounds. Another version of Best of The Beach Boys was released in the UK on November 11, 1966 with a different track listing. Best of The Beach Boys includes a selection of 12 songs in Britain, 14 recorded by the band from 1962 to 1965, many of which were singles or B-sides. WHO WILL SAVE THE WORLD?-A 1972 album recorded by The Groundhogs, originally released by United Artists Records in 1972, The cover is in the form of a comic book featuring groundhogs depicted by superheroes, drawn by comic book artist Neil Adams. In the story, they are fighting the personified evils of overpopulation, environmental pollution, war, "Pig Business" and "Sacred Cow" (religion), as well as a drug-addicted Monkey. Each of the band members is fighting their own evil, which has been hindering them from the very beginning, only for them to stand out and wreak havoc in another part of the globe. The lyrics of each song touch on these themes, and despite the comic nature of the cover, the lyrics are quite serious because they are politically and socially motivated.This was the first Groundhogs album to go beyond guitar/bass/percussion instruments, with McPhee using keyboards (mellotron and harmonium) on a number of tracks. ...more
