Released together with its 1967-1970 counterpart (The Blue Album) in 1973, the double album reached number 3 in the United Kingdom. In the United States, it topped the Cash Box Albums chart and reached number 3 on the Billboard Top LPs and Tape chart, while it reached number one in 1967-1970. The album was re-released in September 1993 on CD, reaching number 3 in the UK.

A very rare British original of the cult ROLLING STONES album. Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)is the first compilation album by The Rolling Stones. With various covers and track listings, it was released on March 28, 1966 on London Records in the United States and on November 4, 1966 on Decca Records in the United Kingdom. The American edition focused on the songs of 1964 and 1965 with two new melodies: the recent "19th Nervous Breakdown" and the re-recorded "Time Is on My Side" with a guitar intro. The British version covered a longer period, starting with the band's first A-side single in 1963, "Come On", and ending with several songs from 1966, including the recent hit "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing in the Shadow?" The album reached number three on the US Billboard 200 chart[1] and number four on the UK albums chart. It remained on the chart for 99 weeks in the United States, where the RIAA certified the album as double platinum, which meant more than two million copies sold. ...more
