It was recorded during a concert in Frejus, France, on August 27, 1982 as part of a tour in support of Avalon's latest studio album. The album cover features model Amanda Cazalet. The Frejus concert was filmed by Robin Nash for the BBC and released on home video in 1983 under the title The High Road with songs in a different sequence. However, the album The High Road, also released in 1983, consists of audio recordings of another concert of the tour, which took place in Glasgow, Scotland, on October 30, 1982. The High Road was discontinued by 1990 and replaced by the album Heart Still Beating, which included both concerts. ...more

This is the first CD recorded by the band after Roger Waters left Pink Floyd.Work on the album A Momentary Lapse of Reason lasted from November 1986 to July 1987 in seven studios in London and Los Angeles. The main part of the material for the new album was written by David Gilmour. In addition, Gilmore took over the duties of producer. Bob Ezrin was invited to record the album as a co-producer.
