E Pluribus Funk is the fifth studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad. The album was released on November 15, 1971 by Capitol Records. Like the previous Grand Funk Railroad albums, it was recorded at the Cleveland Recording Company and is the last album produced by Terry Knight. The name is a play on the motto of the United States of America, E pluribus unum, and in Latin means "Of many, Funk". The original exhaust cover (designed by Ernie Cefalu) was completely round and covered with a silver film that resembled a large coin. The back cover of this album included a cast image of Shea Stadium. The album was very successful, placing in the charts of the second ten in many countries.

It was recorded during a concert in Frejus, France, on August 27, 1982 as part of a tour in support of Avalon's latest studio album. The album cover features model Amanda Cazalet. The Frejus concert was filmed by Robin Nash for the BBC and released on home video in 1983 under the title The High Road with songs in a different sequence. However, the album The High Road, also released in 1983, consists of audio recordings of another concert of the tour, which took place in Glasgow, Scotland, on October 30, 1982. Holy Diver is the debut studio album by Dio, released in 1983. Holy Diver's debut album was recorded in the style of Black Sabbath's latest works, which attracted many fans of this band to Ronnie's new band.
