E Pluribus Funk is the fifth studio album by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad. The album was released on November 15, 1971 by Capitol Records. Like the previous Grand Funk Railroad albums, it was recorded at the Cleveland Recording Company and is the last album produced by Terry Knight. The name is a play on the motto of the United States of America, E pluribus unum, and in Latin means "Of many, Funk". The original exhaust cover (designed by Ernie Cefalu) was completely round and covered with a silver film that resembled a large coin. The back cover of this album included a cast image of Shea Stadium. The album was very successful, placing in the charts of the second ten in many countries.

Silverhead is a British glam rock band founded in early 1972, led by singer and actor Michael Des Barres. The other band members were: Robbie Blunt (guitar), Rod Rook Davis (guitar, percussion, vocals), Nigel Harrison (bass guitar) and Pete Thompson (drums, percussion, keyboards, vocals). They signed with Deep Purple's Purple Records label and recorded two studio albums, Silverhead (1972) and 16 and Savaged (1973), and were part of the 1970s glam rock music scene. In the UK, they have opened for bands such as Nazareth at Finsbury Park and Osibisa at Brixton Sandown, and have also headlined at Dagenham Roundhouse.
