It peaked at No.5 in the US and was certified gold, and its first single, a cover of "The Loco-Motion", topped the US charts. The original cover was made in bi-visual 3-D and included glasses with blue and red viewing lenses.

The name is a play on the motto of the United States of America, E pluribus unum, and in Latin means "Of many, Funk". The original exhaust cover (designed by Ernie Cefalu) was completely round and covered with a silver film that resembled a large coin.
