It was released on March 21, 1977 on Barn Records, but failed to chart nationally. The glam rock movement that Slade was associated with died, and the careers of other glam rock artists such as Mud, Gary Glitter and Sweet went downhill. In Britain, where Slade was traditionally the most popular, punk rock was in fashion. With this album, Slade established themselves as a straight-talking rock band; their "glam" statements from the beginning of the decade are a thing of the past.
