DEBORAH HARRY (EX-BLONDIE)-DEF, DUMB AND BLONDE-1989-THE FIRST UK PRESS-CHRYSALIS-CHR1650.  A rare British original. Def, Dumb and Blonde is the third solo studio album by American singer Deborah Harry. Released in October 1989 on Sire Records in the USA and Chrysalis Records in the UK, the album returned Harry to her professional name "Deborah" rather than "Debbie". Harry worked on the album with various producers, including Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins and Mike Chapman, who previously produced the last four Blondie albums. "I wanted to do something that would remind me of Blondie," she said.   The song "I Want That Man", written by Tom Bailey and Alanna Curry of the Thompson Twins, was released as the title single. It entered the top 20 of the UK Singles chart and became Harry's most successful solo single in Australia, where it reached number 2. ...more

KEITH JARRETT-NUDE ANTS (2LP'S)-1980-FIRST PRESS GERMANY- ECM-ECM 1171/72. A rare original of the iconic jazzman. The album, recorded by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett in May 1979 and released on ECM in May 1980, is the third release by his "European Quartet" featuring saxophonist Jan Garbarek and rhythm section, Palle Danielsson and John Christensen. After 1974, the AllMusic review by Scott Yanow states: "Due to the popularity of the obsessive "My Song" this album is the most famous of Jarrett and Garbarek's collaborations, and in fact it's their most rewarding meeting ever. Jarrett wrote all six tracks, and the results were relaxed and introspective, but at the same time full of inner tension."  ...more

A very rare original of the cult album. Sign "☮" The Times (pronounced Sign of the Times) is the 9th album by American singer and musician Prince. Released on March 31, 1987. The Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004) called the album "Prince's best album, the most holistic example of the breadth of his artistry, and perhaps the best album of the 1980s." The reviewer of Afisha Daily in a retrospective review gave the album a similar assessment. In 2017, the album Sign "☮" the Times was inducted into the Grammy Award Hall of Fame. The album reached number six on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) four months after its release. It also entered the top 10 in Austria, France, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and the UK and took first place in Switzerland. "Sign o' the Times", "U Got the Look" and "I Can never Take Your Man's Place" all made the top 10 hits of the Billboard Hot 100. After Prince's death in 2016, the album re-entered the Billboard 200 at number 20. ...more

CHICKEN SHACK-IMAGINATION LADY-1971-THE FIRST PRESS OF UK-DERAM-SDL5 Matrix A-P2W/B-P2W is a very rare original of the iconic British prog blues band. Imagination Lady is the fifth studio album by the British blues rock band Chicken Shack, led by the band's constant leader, guitarist Stan Webb. Released in 1971 on the Deram label. The band "Chicken Shack" is the brainchild of guitarist Stan Webb. In 1964, Webb formed the band "Sounds of blue", which also included Christina Perfect, Andy Sylvester and Chris Wood. In 1965, the team went to Hamburg to work, but not all musicians were able to go there, and Stan had to recruit new recruits. Two years later, Chicken Shack (as the ensemble was now called) returned to their homeland, and Webb begged Perfect to return to the team. The combination of Stan's bright blues guitar and Kristina's emotional vocals allowed the band to gain a significant number of fans. "Chicken Shack" also attracted the attention of the famous London producer Mike Vernon, who signed them to his company "Blue Horizon". In 1967, the band performed at the National Blues/Jazz Festival in Windsor, and also toured England with their label colleagues, Fleetwood Mac. During these tours, Kristina got together with the bassist of "FM" John McVie, whom she later married. Following this, Webb broke up with his partners who had escaped to Savoy Brown, and soon put together a new version of Chicken Shack with Paul Hancox on drums and John Glascock on bass. After getting a contract from the Deram label, in 1972 the trio released the album "Imagination Lady". A notable moment of the record was the song "Poor Boy", which Webb performed as an encore throughout his later career.  ...more
