BOWIE, DAVID-STAGE (2 LP'S)-1978-FIRST PRESS UK-RCA- PL02913(2) A rare double concert by a British legend. Stage is the second live album by English musician David Bowie, recorded during the Isolar II Tour and released on RCA Records in 1978. The recording was made at concerts in Philadelphia, Providence, and Boston, USA, in late April and early May 1978. It mainly included material from Bowie's last studio albums at that time, "Station to Station", "Low" and "Heroes" (both 1977), but also contained five songs from "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (1972). In addition to Bowie's main band, consisting of Carlos Alomar, Dennis Davis and George Murray, the band included former Frank Zappa member Adrian Belew on guitar, Simon House from Hawkwind on electric violin, Roger Powell, best known for working with Todd Rundgren in the band Utopia, on keyboards and Sean Mays on piano, string ensemble and backing vocals. They all reunited the following year on Bowie's next studio album Lodger (1979). Stage was a commercial success. Station to Station is the tenth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on January 23, 1976 on the RCA Records label. The album, considered one of his most significant works, became the embodiment of Bowie's "Thin White Duke" stage persona. The Station to Station album, produced by Bowie and Harry Maslin, was primarily recorded at Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles, California, in late 1975, after Bowie had completed filming on The Man Who Fell to Earth. The cover was designed based on a shot from the movie. During the recording, Bowie suffered from various addictions, primarily cocaine, and later said that he remembered almost nothing about the recording process. "From Station to Station" was often included in the lists of the greatest albums of all time according to various publications. Styx is the ninth studio album by the American rock band Styx, released in 1979."Cornerstone" became Styx's third consecutive multi-platinum album and the first album to be nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group category. As with the previous four Styx albums, the band produced this album themselves. Styx recorded the album at Pumpkin Studios in Oak Lawn, Illinois. "Cornerstone" is best known for featuring the band's only song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the powerful ballad "Babe". The album also includes the folk-rock song "Boat on the River", which became a hit in Europe but did not chart in the United States.
