A rare original of the iconic jazzman. Special Edition is an album by American jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette, recorded in March 1979 and released on ECM the following year. The quartet consists of flautists David Murray and Arthur Blythe, as well as bassist and cellist Slip Warren. The AllMusic review, written by Scott Yanow, states: "The first (and most powerful) of Jack DeJohnette's Special Edition line-ups produced a sound that in many ways was revolutionary for modern and creative improvised music around 1980... Two markedly different versions of the album were released: one by RCA Records in Europe, and the other by Capitol Records in the United States, Canada, and Japan.The RCA version contains the single "Turn It Down" and the original recording of "Fox on the Run"." The Capitol version, released in the United States in July 1975, includes the 1973 hit single "The Ballroom Blitz "and the single version"Fox on the Run"." In the United States, the album peaked at number 25 on October 25, 1975.Desolation Boulevard is considered by many to be the band's best album. A rare Japanese original of a cult album.The Blue Ridge Rangers is the first solo studio album by John Fogerty, former vocalist and guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival. When originally released on Fantasy Records in 1973, the album was credited to The Blue Ridge Rangers without mentioning Fogerty on the cover. Fogerty decided to do so in order to distance himself from his Creedence legacy. The album consists entirely of traditional and country covers, and Fogerty plays all the instruments. The album reached 47th place in the charts. Two singles from the album became hits: "Jambalaya", which reached number 16 in the United States and 15 in Canada, and "Hearts of Stone", which reached number 37 in the United States and 35 in Canada. The third single not included in the album, "You Don't Owe Me" reached 79th place in Canada. ...more
