BLUE RIDGE RANGERS (EX-CCR) -SAME(+BOOKLET)-1973-THE FIRST JAPAN-FANTASY-LFP-80800 PRESS. A rare Japanese original of a cult album.The Blue Ridge Rangers is the first solo studio album by John Fogerty, former vocalist and guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival. When originally released on Fantasy Records in 1973, the album was credited to The Blue Ridge Rangers without mentioning Fogerty on the cover. Fogerty decided to do so in order to distance himself from his Creedence legacy. The album consists entirely of traditional and country covers, and Fogerty plays all the instruments. The album reached 47th place in the charts. Two singles from the album became hits: "Jambalaya", which reached number 16 in the United States and 15 in Canada, and "Hearts of Stone", which reached number 37 in the United States and 35 in Canada. A rare original of the iconic jazzman. Special Edition is an album by American jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette, recorded in March 1979 and released on ECM the following year. The quartet consists of flautists David Murray and Arthur Blythe, as well as bassist and cellist Slip Warren. The AllMusic review, written by Scott Yanow, states: "The first (and most powerful) of Jack DeJohnette's Special Edition line-ups produced a sound that in many ways was revolutionary for modern and creative improvised music around 1980... BOWIE, DAVID-STAGE (2 LP'S)-1978-FIRST PRESS UK-RCA- PL02913(2) A rare double concert by a British legend. Stage is the second live album by English musician David Bowie, recorded during the Isolar II Tour and released on RCA Records in 1978. The recording was made at concerts in Philadelphia, Providence, and Boston, USA, in late April and early May 1978. It mainly included material from Bowie's last studio albums at that time, "Station to Station", "Low" and "Heroes" (both 1977), but also contained five songs from "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (1972). In addition to Bowie's main band, consisting of Carlos Alomar, Dennis Davis and George Murray, the band included former Frank Zappa member Adrian Belew on guitar, Simon House from Hawkwind on electric violin, Roger Powell, best known for working with Todd Rundgren in the band Utopia, on keyboards and Sean Mays on piano, string ensemble and backing vocals. They all reunited the following year on Bowie's next studio album Lodger (1979). Stage was a commercial success. In the UK, she took 5th place in the charts and subsequently received a gold certificate from the British Phonogram Producers Association (BPI). It also reached number 44 on the US charts. ...more
