GONG - ANGELS EGG-1973-SECOND PRESS-UK-VIRGIN-V2007. A-2U/B-3U matrices. A rare British original of a cult album. The second part of the famous Gong trilogy under the general title "Radio Gnome Invisible"."Angel's Egg" is the eclecticism of the band that has risen to a new level. Here Gong realized 100% of their creative aspirations in the field of synthesis of psychedelia and jazz-rock. The album is simply magnificent; each song has a unique sound; perfect instrumental harmony is noticeable with a complete unhealthiness of creative ideas. I can't even say which of the three albums "Radio Gnome Invisible" is better (but it's definitely not Vol.1) All music rated the album 4 stars.  ...more

Records. Emboldened by the success of his debut solo album Proud Words on a Dusty Shelf (1973), Ken Hensley recorded his second solo work in 1975, calling it Eager To Please, which means "Trying to please" or "Striving to please." Everyone can judge how much Hensley tried to please the public. But based on the tastes of the average Uriah Heep fan, it's clear that Ken was expected to do something similar. ...more

A rare original of a cult album. Music in the Universe is the second studio album by the instrumental rock band Zodiac, released in 1982. The disc is designed in the space rock style. The front side of the envelope has two versions - with the image of the band members in spacesuits on the background of the cover (most likely a limited edition or export version), and without the image of the band members. On the reverse side of the disc there is an introductory speech by A. Baumanis. The compositions "Laser Illumination", "Silver Dream", "In the Light of Saturn" and "Flight over El Dorado" were written for the short documentary "Star Palette", where they were used in parts. The song "The Other Side of the Sky" was originally called "Karate", but the subsequent persecution of this sport forced the name of the track to be changed. The track "Mysterious Galaxy" was used in the animated film "The Meeting" (1984, produced by Kyivnauchfilm), in the TV show "Sportloto", as well as in the program "Search" on Russian Radio. According to the Melodiya company, 1,703,800 copies of the record were sold by August 26, 1983. ...more

ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER- CATS (2LP'S)-1981-THE FIRST UK PRESS-POLYDOR-CATX001. A very rare British original of a cult rock opera. "Cats" is a musical musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It is based on T. S. Eliot's 1939 collection of poems, The Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellykles and the night they make the "Jellykles choice", deciding which cat will rise to the Heaviside layer and return to a new life. As of 2024, "Cats" remains the fifth longest-running Broadway show and the eighth longest-running show in the West End. Lloyd Webber began writing music based on Eliot's poems in 1977, and in 1980 these compositions were first presented as a song cycle. Then producer Cameron Mackintosh invited director Trevor Nunn and choreographer Gillian Lynn to turn the songs into a full-fledged musical. "Cats" received positive reviews at the New London Theatre in the West End in 1981, followed by mixed reviews at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway in 1982. They have won numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Musical. Despite the unusual idea, which initially scared off investors, the musical was an unprecedented commercial success: by 2012, its box office worldwide totaled 3.5 billion US dollars. ...more
