The rare Japanese edition of the cult album The Book of Taliesyn is the second studio album by the British band Deep Purple. It was released in the USA in October 1968 on the Tetragrammaton Records label, and in the UK in June 1969 on the EMI label. The musical style of The Book of Taliesyn is a mix of progressive rock, psychedelic rock and hard rock.[1][16][17][18][19]. Many reviewers believe that on this album the band demonstrated greater maturity and complexity of musical compositions than on the previous one. The album received a good rating in the USA, but like the previous one, it went completely unnoticed in the musicians' homeland, in the UK. Five of the seven tracks were placed on the Billboard Hot100 in the middle of the hundred.

It was Dylan's first album to use power tools, which caused controversy and divided many in the modern folk scene. The album is divided into two separate parts; the first part of the album uses electric instruments, and on the first side of the original vinyl disc, Dylan is accompanied by an electro-rock and roll band.
