SINATRA, FRANK -SINATRA SWINGS-1961-FIRST PRESS (STEREO) UK-REPRISE-R9-10002.  A rare British original of a cult album. Sinatra Swings (originally titled "Swing with Me") is an album by Frank Sinatra featuring Billy May and his orchestra, released in 1961. The two album titles stem from the fact that Capitol believed that this album, originally titled "Rock with Me," was so close in sound and title to Sinatra's earlier Capitol album, "Come Rock with Me!" what the label sought and was satisfied with was a court order requiring Reprise to change the name of this, only his second Reprise album, to Sinatra Swings. Reprinting was not required to recall the already shipped records, but new labels and covers had to be printed, and the album cover announced that it contained "twelve of the most uninhibited Sinatra pieces ever recorded." The tracks were arranged and conducted by Billy May and his orchestra. Sinatra had a minor hit with the single "Granada" included on this album. ...more

A very rare limited edition original of the cult album. The Raven is the fourth studio album by the English rock band The Stranglers, released on September 21, 1979 on the United Artists label. The Raven was released in September 1979. It reached number 4 on the UK Albums Chart, staying there for eight weeks. "Duchess" was the first and most successful single from the album, released on August 10, 1979, and peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. "Nuclear Device (The Wizard of Aus)" was the second single released; it reached number 36 on the same chart. In November, a four-track mini album "Don't Bring Harry" was released. In addition to the title song and the live version of "In the Shadows", the album also includes "Wired" (from Cornwell and Robert Williams' upcoming album Nosferatu) and a live version of "Crabs" (from Burnell's solo album Euroman Cometh).. MINGUS, CHARLES-RIGHT NOW-1966-FRANCE-AMERICA FIRST PRESS-30AM 6063.  A rare French original of a cult album.  Right Now: Live at the Jazz Workshop is a live album by jazz bassist and composer Charles Mingus, recorded in San Francisco in 1964 and released on the Fantasy label in 1966. The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow says: "Although this underrated band does not reach the passionate level of the Mingus-Dolphy quintet, it is quite independent." ROBERT CALVERT - CAPTAIN LOCKHEED AND THE STARFIGHTERS -1974- FIRST PRESS RELEASE UK-UNITED ARTISTS- UAG29507. A-1U/B-1U matrices. A rare British original of a cult album. The first solo album by Robert Calvert, an eccentric character who was still a full-time Hawkwind poet at that time and had not yet managed to become their full-time frontman. This is a very peculiar story album - the real story of the American Lockheed F-104 Starfighter fighter, which in the 60s was, it turns out, purchased by the West German Air Force in terrible quantities with such modifications that made the aircraft terribly emergency, as a result of which it earned the nickname "Widowmaker". Calvert is drawn here on two counts at once: firstly, he expresses his love and knowledge of military history; secondly, he demonstrates colorful sarcasm and a sense of humor. His targets, of course, are German generals (banter against Germans, as you know, is a traditional genre of British humor). The album actually resembles a radio play, in which song numbers alternate with comic skits brilliantly played by characters such as Vivian Stanshall from Bonzo Dog Band and, of course, Calvert himself. For music lovers, it is valuable here that Calvert was supported by almost the entire Hawkwind line-up at that time. ...more
